My name is Alysha, and I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

I am dedicated to fostering a therapeutic space where individuals feel seen, heard, and valued—a space where you are welcome to show up as you are. I believe healing begins with self-acceptance and self-compassion. Grounded in a trauma-informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive approach, I recognize the profound impact of past experiences, systemic barriers, and personal hardships on one’s sense of self and overall well-being.

My work is centered on helping individuals navigate systemic challenges, reclaim their identities, and recognize their inherent strengths as they move toward healing and self-discovery. I am committed to cultivating an inclusive and affirming therapeutic environment where all identities and lived experiences are honored and respected.

Fun Fact: I was awarded an NCAA Division 1 soccer scholarship and have competed internationally as a member of the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team, traveling across Canada, the United States, Norway, Brazil, and China.

My name is Sarah (she/they), and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as well as the founder of Counterspiral Care.

I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, and also hold a Master of Teaching and Honours Bachelor of Music degree. I have also recently began my PhD in Music candidacy at Wilfrid Laurier University, with a research focus on trauma-informed vocal music.

I identify as queer, genderfluid, white, and neurodivergent, all of which are identities and lived experiences that inform and influence my practice. I continually strive to expand my knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, and to practice through an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens. I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and advocacy, and am always curious about new ways to support my clients in understanding and celebrating their intersectionality and diversity.

My therapeutic approach is warm, judgment-free, curiosity-based, and compassionate, centered around building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. With a background in psychotherapy, education, vocal music, and suicide intervention, I draw from my unique life experiences throughout my client work, and love discovering the strengths and opportunities held within my clients’ life experiences in kind. I believe in holistic and embodied therapy, drawing from modalities such as CBT, DBT, narrative, EFT, parts work, mindfulness, and somatic therapies. I am regularly engaging in professional development to add new modalities to my therapeutic toolbox and to sharpen and refine my existing practices.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to schedule an initial appointment. I look forward to working with you!
